You’ll explore how to choose and arrange your subjects, create balanced compositions, and use light, shadow, color, and texture to bring everyday objects to life. Cynthia will share practical tips on observing shapes and values, planning your layout, and layering color to add depth and realism.

By the end, you’ll walk away with a stronger foundation, fresh inspiration, and the confidence to create still life artworks that feel both personal and polished. This workshop is a warm, encouraging space to build your skills and spark new ideas—perfect for artists at any level.

This workshop will be offered online via Zoom.  A video of the workshop will be sent to all registered a couple days following the completion of the workshop.

About Cynthia:

Cynthia Knox, CPSA is an award-winning artist who has authored 19 art instructional books and teaches workshops throughout the U.S., internationally, and online with Craftsy.com.  She is currently working on a series of instructional books titled, “Painting in Colored Pencil” with 4 volumes already published, as well as an instructional book for beginning colored pencil artists (Ann Kullberg – Publisher).  Cynthia is a Signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of America.  She has contributed articles and artwork to numerous magazines and books and is a commissioned portrait artist.  Her passion is teaching students how to draw and paint with colored pencils and helping them elevate their skills to the next level.  Cynthia resides in New York and credits her artistic inspiration to a deep love for God and her family.  Her artwork, resume, and more can be viewed on her website at www.cynthiaknox.com.  She is also on Facebook and Instagram.
